SEX TIDE, live in New York City this past weekend. Now you know why we like ‘em so much around here.

What’s going on with the Dynamite Hemorrhage fanzine #1, you ask? Oh, you didn’t know? Yeah, I’m working on a print fanzine that will come out in less than 2 months – wrapping up all writing, ads and such by 12/1, with layout and printing happening in December. There’s so much stuff in there I think we may top 60-70 pages, no joke. Some highlights:
- An interview with Chris D. (Flesh Eaters, Slash Magazine, Upsetter Records etc.) on Los Angeles punk rock, circa 1977-80
- The first comprehensive retrospective & posthumous interview with Sally Skull, amazingly raw all-female Scottish garage band 1994-98 (pictured above)
- Interviews with current stellar bands Household and Sex Tide
- An interview with Bona Dish, short-lived early 80s UK DIY band who’ve recently been unearthed
- Lost female-fronted bands of the past three decades
- A ton of record and book reviews
- Advertisements from today’s hottest young record labels
- more more more

Sex Tide’s primal howlings owe more to the groovy hate fuck attitude of Pussy Galore, or The Cramps before them, than anything to surface yet in this millennium

Here’s the latest in a 24-part series of rocknroll podcasts and phony radio shows recorded on my laptop. DYNAMITE HEMORRHAGE RADIO #24 is among the more mellow of the shows of recent vintage, all things considered, salted liberally w/ a few world-destroying punk rock and noise acts. New records this show include releases from JOANNA GRUESOME, SEX TIDE, BYRON COLEY, FREELOVE FENNER, PLUME, NUMB BATS and DREAMSALON. You’ll also hear elder wisdom from the mouths of Young Marble Giants, Death of Samantha, the Alley Cats, True Believers, The Nubs, Bona Dish, Section 25, Railroad Jerk and a bunch more. Track listing’s below if you’d like to give it a scan before you commit the next hour & seven minutes of your life to this thing.

Excellent lineup on August 28th in San Francisco, courtesy of TheSavageBeat. This would have been about 1982, right? Red Cross, not Redd Kross; Mutants were still around.
The awesome SEX TIDE from Columbus, OH – whose new record I can’t stop playing repeatedly, and at top volume. All 20-something jarring, dissonant, swampy minutes of it.
It may sound exactly like a Veronica Falls cover, but this new “Wussy Void” from the UK’s JOANNA GRUESOME is a fantastic track. The whole album’s pretty good, actually – a total twee noisegasm.
