Thank you, good night

This chapter of the many years I’ve spent making radio-like programs and creating homespun music fanzines under different names has come to an end. It’s been a blast doing Dynamite Hemorrhage and Radio Dies Screaming shows and zines since 2012, but I’ve clearly hit that point after thirteen years where I sort of just do it to do it. The name change helped keep it chugging another year, in any event. But what’s great is that radio/podcast-wise, there are so many phenomenal shows on Mixcloud alone that absolutely run laps around the dog & pony shows I’ve been putting out there the last few years.

Now I’ve been a quiet and sometimes not-so-quiet quitter of this endeavor before, then have slunk back, but I’m getting tired of even doing that. I have a TON of enthusiasm for continuing to write, however – there may be a second print issue of Film Hemorrhage at some point. That’s the most fun I’ve had putting something together in years. I’ve also got an active site about fanzines of the past called Fanzine Hemorrhage that you’re welcome to check out.

There are even copies still available of a couple issues here. If you’re coming here for the first time, all my previous issues are available for PDF download at zero charge here. And jesus, there is an archive of my podcasts on Mixcloud that’ll keep you busy for over 10 days of solid, uninterrupted listening. God help you. Thanks to all who’ve listened, written in and/or contributed in some way. If I create anything worth sharing in the near future, I’ll be sure to let my “mailing list” know.

  2. Hi Jay. This makes me a bit sad but I totally get it. You have introduced me to so much great music which I have tried to introduce to others thru my own little radio show here in Moab, UT. Nobody I’ve run into online is able to filter down to the raw and real as well as you.

I hope more people are able to be as lucky as I have by finding your work here in the future. I wish you every bit of happiness in whatever your next endeavor may be. I will certainly be continuing to lurk your Bandcamp profile to find out what tunes the legendary Hinman needs for sustenance.

Thanks for this amazing archive and best of luck in your future pursuits.
