I actually wrote the liner notes for this reissue; tomorrow tickets go on sale for their June show in San Francisco. One of the 50 greatest records of all time.

Erika Elizabeth Made a Compilation For You
Just as she did for those of us who donated to WMUA this year because of her rad rocknroll show “Expressway to Your Skull”, disc jockey Erika Elizabeth made a “custom mix” of songs that she’s decided to not just share with donators, but with everyone. I asked her for a collection of female-fronted 90s punk/noise/pop, and I got what I asked for.
I guess for some of those who said simply, “surprise me”, they got the all-covers mix “Reflect What You Are”. And now you get it as well. Maybe you should send her some money if you’re feeling guilty or if you’re a fan of the show like the rest of us in Dynamite Hemorrhage Nation are.

Very cool – thanks to Steve B. for the heads-up.
Listen Live to Ribbon Around a Bomb tonight…
I’m meeting and assisting DJ La Lengua for the first time tonight, as she’s graciously asked me over while she plays female-fronted punk rock on RADIO VALENCIA from 10pm-Midnight Pacific time tonight (that’s 1-3am on the US east coast, and a different time in other places). If all goes as planned it’ll be my first time on “real” radio since, yep, 1991 (as opposed to the phony radio I’m pumping out weekly now).
Since Ms. Lengua mostly plays 70s/80s punk on her show Ribbon Around a Bomb, I’ve prepared a set of obscure “90s punk” in which the XX chromosome rules. Listen online, via the Radio Valencia app – or via the podcast that’s sure to get posted in a week or two.
Art for Spastics is Back! (For a Show)
Before there was Expressway To Yr Skull, before there was Ribbon Around a Bomb, before there was the Dynamite Hemorrhage Radio Podcast, there was ART FOR SPASTICS. DJ Rick’s radio show on Davis, CA’s KDVS was the first, and for a while, the only, radio show that I downloaded and listened to on my “iPod” every week.
He went away – and for one week at least, he’s back. Absolutely a treasure chest of art punk, noise, bizarro pop & garage and that sorta thing.
STILL SINGLE: Dadamah – “Violet Stains Red” b/w “Absent And Erotic Lives” 7” (Yellow Electric)
It’s some sort of minor miracle that two songs by Dadamah, the great, short-lived New Zealand psych-drone project, had escaped detection and release for the past 20 years. Their CD on Kranky comped all of the known tracks from this phenomenal group, all released into the void courtesy of the…

Frightwig Interview on Ribbon Around A Bomb Radio
DJ La Lengua just posted her new podcast of the excellent Ribbon Around A Bomb radio show, this time 100% female-fronted punk and noise from San Francisco, and with a new interview w/ Mia and Deanna from Frightwig.
Click the link, look at the photos, download the podcast. It’s just that easy.
