I’m doing my best to crank out an hour of music for Dynamite Hemorrhage’s several dozen listeners every two weeks, and mission accomplished this time, with DYNAMITE HEMORRHAGE RADIO #23 coming out just about two weeks to the day from the last one I recorded in Norway (!). This one was able to shoehorn 24 songs in a mere 1 hour, 2 minutes – that’s a lot of short, aggressive songs. As promised “on the air”, I’ll try and mellow out a bit next time.

This one showcases some new stuff from SEX TIDE, RUBY PINS, THE AR-KAICS and FOSTER CARE, along with recent stuff from Pampers and Danny and the Darleans…..then there’s some good olde-tyme rocknroll from The Vidiots, Green on Red, Supercharger, Expando Brain, Liimanarina and yes, The Fuckin’ Flyin’ A-Heads! The newest episode of my hour-long music podcast, DYNAMITE HEMORRHAGE RADIO (#22), was recorded in a hotel room in Oslo, Norway this week, rather than in our home base of San Francisco. See if you can detect a distinct “Scandinavian” flair to the show, to say nothing of the babbling and storytelling brought on by extreme jet lag. She said she was gonna do it, and then she did it. Erika Elizabeth, the exceptionally knowledegable and savvy WMUA disc jockey who left Western Massachusetts for Portland, OR, now has put together her second digital radio show/podcast, which you can download over on her blog.

Her “Expressway To Yr Skull” show has been vital to my discovery of multiple bands and to my rejuvenation/reawakening to the whys and wherefores of raw, underground rock and roll music – especially of the more obscure pop and female-fronted DIY/punk stuff. And she breaks the news over on the recent post that she’ll be a prime contributor to the upcoming Dynamite Hemorrhage print fanzine, which is coming along pretty fine, actually. Go and download years & years of her shows here – you’ll get yourself muscially schooled & perhaps be a more interesting person as a result.

To close out September in fine style, I’ve strung together 21 quality rocknroll compositions, grouped them into logical clusters, added some pithy and often insightful commentary, and called it DYNAMITE HEMORRHAGE RADIO, Edition #21. It’s the bi-weekly podcast I do. I hope you download it, or maybe stream it if you’d like. New stuff this time from Neonates, Los Tentakills, Ruby Pins, The Ar-Kaics and even the queen of swinging mademoiselle French pop herself, Clothilde.

Old(er) stuff this time leans loud, but not exclusively: Myelin Sheaths; Tyvek; early Meat Puppets; The Only Ones at their most “punk”; Terminal Waste Band even the disco/dub/krautrock band Tussle. It’s all about the young musicmakers of today this time on DYNAMITE HEMORRHAGE RADIO – this 65-minute podcast features a bunch of ‘em, including brand new stuff from Household, Neonates, Wildhoney, The Ar-Kaics, Toxie, Terry Malts, Ruby Pins and even the swan song from Sic Alps. Holy mackerel. I also took a page directly from the book of New Zealand’s (and The Dead C’s) Bruce Russell, and played a set of kiwi postpunk, punk and noise from the early 1980s on “small labels”, just as Mr. Russell did on this excellent podcast. I was taking notes, as you’ll see. The show is rounded out by other sub-underground sound from Jackknife, Blast Off Country Style, The Spits, Dara Puspita, Bona Dish, Flesh Eaters and more.

It’s been a few weeks – how about another DYNAMITE HEMORRHAGE RADIO PODCAST, what do you say? This is the nineteenth edition (#19), and this time around I’ve got some stunning new stuff from RUBY PINS, THE AR-KAICS, SIMPLE CIRCUIT, SKINNY GIRL DIET and CONSTANT MONGREL. It’s about an hour, all told.
