In the pre-podcast, pre-iPod, pre-Smartphone age, circa 2000-2001, I was an “online DJ” for a Seattle-based online radio website called ANTENNA RADIO.
It was, alas, based upon 2000-2001 technology, so prepping my DJ-less, voiceless show (a weekly 50s-60s garage punk and R&B thing I did called “No Count Dance Party”) involved recording LPs and 45s onto cassette, then feeding the resulting mix into the computer, then chopping it up into Real Audio files. This process took about 3 hours per week, including the “liner notes” I’d write using Adobe Page Mill.
I found that the Wayback Machine still had some pages saved for Antenna Radio, and thought I’d post a few snaps here for fun.

Back in record time, a mere ten days after the last one – y como no? I couldn’t hold onto this righteous hour-long carload of music any longer. There’s a whole set devoted to LA punk rock 1977-1981, all pulled from the brand new edition of the “Punk 45” series of LP/CDs. Other stellar tracks this time are from the likes of AMOS & SARA, SACRED PRODUCT, KYRA, VOICE OF THE PUPPETS and more. Bombs away!

They’re an outstanding new band from Oakland who’ve yet to put out any vinyl, but you can listen to some distorted & wild demos on their Soundcloud page.
They’ll be featured in an interview in Dynamite Hemorrhage fanzine #3, out in a few months.
An excellent 5-song set of JOHN FAHEY live on BBC on May 28th, 1969 has been posted here, and it’s well worth the four seconds it’ll take to download.
