I’ll be stagediving and getting into fistfights tonight at COME’s 20th-anniversary reunion show in San Francisco, honoring the gap between the release of their amazing “Eleven: Eleven” album in late ‘92 and, well, this year, the year of the reissue of said album.

While this slashing track, “SVK”, doesn’t come from “Eleven: Eleven”, it was one of the band’s earliest numbers, as documented on the live disc included with the reissue. This studio version came out on an EP called “Wrong Side”, and was recorded in 1993. See you in the pit or in jail later tonight.

You guys heard THE WIMPS yet? I’m pretty new to the cut of their jib, but I like what I hear. This song, “Slept In Late”, kicks off their debut LP “Repeat”.

Other parts of the record are more, uh, “angular” and have a wiry post-punk yet very snotty feel to them. Punkers. We love ‘em.

THE FLESH EATERS and friends in Los Angeles, would have been about 1982 or so.

I believe “Loup Garou” were a spinoff of Australia’s LIPSTICK KILLERS, who had moved to LA, but someone may need to check that for me. You can hear Chris D repeat those words – that band name – at the end of the song “Divine Horsemen”.

INTERNATIONAL STRIKE FORCE were a late 90s UK band who grew out of the recently-disbanded Golden Starlet; while not all their stuff’s top drawer, I’m all-in on the best of their noisy, crazed low-budget art/punk jams, with lackadaisical upper-crust vocals and lyrics. This one’s called “Action Man” is from a split 45 from 2000 with something called Black Cat #13.

For years I’ve been feverishly looking for a song about women and electronics in the kitchen that can match Dow Jones & The Industrials’ amazing “Ladies With Appliances”. Now I’ve found that song, courtesy of this 1979 minimalist brain-buzzer from Philadelphia’s CRASH COURSE IN SCIENCE called “Kitchen Motors”.
