My cellular telephone captured thirty seconds of THE LAMPS playing Teddy & The Frat Girls’ “I Owe It To The Girls” this past Friday at The Echo in Los Angeles.
I wept openly.

We had a blast at the In the Red Anniversary party! All the bands were excellent. Thanks to Larry Hardy and The Echo for hosting this event. Photos by Carl Pocket.
I was fortunate to have attended this one on Thursday. I’ve seen the Cheater Slicks five or so times, none since 1999, and this was, quite surprisingly,
the BEST.

Phil Milstein started THE VELVET UNDERGROUND APPRECIATION SOCIETY in 1977, a time when several of the band’s albums were out of print and when they had nothing quite near the cultural caché they have today.
Dynamite Hemorrhage #3 interviews Mr. Milstein about VUAS and his interactions with the band members themselves. Why, it’s our cover story, in fact.

The whole set list is here – and you can listen to or download the thing here.
No problem. My DivShare account went offline and that link died with it. Here’s White Zombie, recorded 5-25-88 on KCSB in Santa Barbara.
And here’s the piece I wrote on that night a while back.
Hey, thanks a lot – yeah, I’m assembling tracks for a 2nd one as we speak. Hope to create “Hemorrhage in Dub #2″ within the next week.

Anyone remember HEMIOLA RECORDS?
UK label run by a woman named Justine. She placed this ad in Superdope #6, a fanzine I put out in 1993. The Fly Ashtray and TFUL282 records she released were quite excellent.
If you’re as into Tim Presley’s music as we are – WHITE FENCE, WX, DRINKS and so on – you might want to check out our interview w/ the man in Dynamite Hemorrhage #3.
