Corrections and Mea Culpas

  • The Australian band that I’ve played on recent Dynamite Hemorrhage Radio podcasts is called WOODBOOT, not WOODBOT. Oh dear.
  • Dynamite Hemorrhage Radio #75 back-announced a song by @myriamgendron that I didn’t actually play. Whoops.
  • In the late 80s San Francisco rock band World of Pooh, whose oral history runs to 20 pages in Dynamite Hemorrhage fanzine #3, Brandan Kearney played guitar, not bass; Barbara Manning played bass, not guitar. Mea culpa.
  • The word “posthumous”, used repeatedly throughout Dynamite Hemorrhage #3, technically refers to someone or something that is dead. My use of the word in several instances is therefore incorrect; for example, Sibylle Baier is very much alive, and therefore her “posthumous” album was merely issued well after the time she recorded it, not after she shuffled off of this mortal coil. Jesus criminy.

Dave over at FREE FORM FREAKOUT took the time to give us at Dynamite Hemorrhage a real grilling, and this DH-focused podcast is the result. We talk about fanzine culture, music criticism, podcasts, high school new wavers, Sara Fancy and much more.

He even let us choose all of the music, so naturally it’s stuff we want you to like – or that was somehow formative/instructional during our youth.

The whole set list is here – and you can listen to or download the thing here.

Hey, i know this is kind of out of the blue but through some googling I saw that you had posted a download link for White Zombie’s KCSB session a few years back. Any chance you could post a new link for that? The one that was up wasn’t working. I’m a huge, huge fan of that early noisy stuff they did and would love to hear it outside of what’s on YouTube. Thanks!

No problem. My DivShare account went offline and that link died with it. Here’s White Zombie, recorded 5-25-88 on KCSB in Santa Barbara.

Download here.

And here’s the piece I wrote on that night a while back.
