An excellent 5-song set of JOHN FAHEY live on BBC on May 28th, 1969 has been posted here, and it’s well worth the four seconds it’ll take to download.

There’s been a recent shift in the British musical order that’s let in a new pack of first-rate yobbish garage punks – bands like the Suburban Homes, City Yelps, and my new punk rock favorite by a mile, The Worms.
These London bombers have a blink-&-miss tape full of raw stuttering riffs, big angry sneers and growls and a shard-heavy approach to the guitar that’s both minimal and damaging. The faster numbers wouldn’t be out of place on a mid-90s Registrators or Teengenerate Japan-punk album (and are better than both); the more deliberate ones are way more in the snarling and oafish spirit of ’77.
I don’t quite see them as “boot boys”, but they’ve crafted some intelligent hooliganism that’s way, way too good to just be on a tape.

A new print history of SLASH magazine is coming out in a month. I’ve been waiting for this for a long time – and really glad to see it will contain an oral history, essays and the like.
It may not be the compleat collection we’ve been begging for, but you can get that here, I guess.

DYNAMITE HEMORRHAGE #3 UPDATE
As mentioned previously, we’re un-retiring the Dynamite Hemorrhage fanzine. The Third Issue will be out in May or June, inshallah. Here’s what’s in it:
Order back issues here while u wait!

I don’t know what took me so long to order one, but FORDAMNING fanzine, published by one Matthias Andersson of Gothenburg, Sweden, is an excellent dive into the musty corners of sub-sub-underground rocknroll.
I’m currently reading #8 – the one with the It’s War Boys and Crisis of Taste features – and am very impressed w/ the depth of arcane knowledge and with the ability to convey it. Order yours here.
THE WORLD and BUCK BILOXI AND THE FUCKS, two different venues, yesterday in Oakland CA.

THE STACHES, from Geneva, live at San Francisco’s Eagle Tavern last night. They were fantastic & played only stuff from their upcoming LP.
We wouldn’t let a cold stop the barreling freight train of sub-underground rocknroll that is Dynamite Hemorrhage Radio #69, a podcast/faux radio show dedicated to perpetuating the idea that the talent-challenged are the true musical visionaries of the last five decades.
We debut new stuff from the likes of BENT, WOLFMANHATTAN PROJECT, THE STACHES, ASTRO CHILDREN, GØGGS, PATSY, THE WORLD and more. We take a big dip into that newly-reissued FLESH EATERS album you’re so excited about. And we even revisit the ear-shredding early 90s guitar action of SKULLFLOWER, while lightening the load a bit with library material from WORLD OF POOH, CRACK UND ULTRA ECZEMA (pictured), WHITE FENCE, THE SCREAMERS and more.
Do us a solid and give at least the first ten minutes a go, please?
Download or stream Dynamite Hemorrhage Radio #69 on Soundcloud.
Stream the show on MixCloud instead.

DYNAMITE HEMORRHAGE #3 UPDATE
A new, large, overflowing Dynamite Hemorrhage fanzine’s on the way. We just need to actually make the thing first.
We just finished up an interview with Belgian early 80s punks UNIT 4 (pictured); we’ve persuaded Free Form Freakout’s David Perron to come aboard and write reviews of left-field, sub-underground, non-rocknroll weirdo records; we rounded up the members of late 80s/early 90s San Francisco falling-apart pop act WORLD OF POOH to agree to an oral history; we have an interview with Velvet Underground Appreciation Society founder Phil Milstein nearly done; and even 2016’s LITHICS are getting a well-earned place at the table.
Oh, there’s more as well. Tim Presley from WHITE FENCE will get a “Dynamite Hemorrhage grilling” in the near future. Erika Elizabeth’s writing record reviews. Jay’s writing record and film reviews.
If that sounds at all interesting, we’ll do our best to make sure it actually is. In the meantime, back issues are available right here.
Like clockwork, the reborn DYNAMITE HEMORRHAGE RADIO has found new life in dumping out hour-long fake podcasts every two weeks. Here’s another one, our 68th.
The new stuff this time comes from first-time all-stars like NO DITCHING, PALM, MILK LINES, PATSY, TAIWAN HOUSING PROJECT (pictured) and other 2016 heavyweights. There’s a heavy 1980s lean to this particular show, and some heroes getting spun here include PUSSY GALORE, 100 FLOWERS, SEEMS TWICE, THE GORDONS and AMOS AND SARA, along with 60s counterparts JONATHAN HALPER and VASHTI + rocks-off 70s punk studs O-LEVEL. And more. Spend an hour and six minutes here, and you’ll never want to spend an hour and six minutes anywhere else.
Download or stream Dynamite Hemorrhage Radio #68 from Soundcloud.
Stream it over on Mixcloud instead.
Get it on iTunes, along with over 40+ older episodes as well.
